Recently, pCloudy has outdone itself by releasing version 2.0.0 of the Desktop Assistant, packed with enhancements that further streamline the user experience.

Initial Offering: PDA 5.9

The first release of the pCloudy Desktop Assistant was compatible with Linux, Windows, and Mac machines. The benefits included:

• Multi-cloud Testing: The ability to test features from multiple clouds at a single place, without the hassle of logging into different clouds.
• Time Saving: Eliminated the need to download different jar files or .exe files to use various features.
• Direct and Debug Proxy: Enabled use of Direct and Debug proxy.

The PDA supported three widely used features:

• Wildnet: Enabled users to test their local sites on any Android/iOS device or browser on the pCloudy platform. Suitable for both manual and automation testing.
• Android Tunnel: Allowed users to connect and take full control of any Android device using the Android Debug Bridge (ADB). This let developers control a device using ADB commands and debug their apps in real time.
• iOS Connect: Enabled users to connect to a remotely present iOS device and access it as if it was connected to their computer, bridging the gap for the iOS development lifecycle.

Note: iOS Tunnel was only supported on Mac machines.

Introducing PDA 2.0.0: What’s New?

1. Provision of Log-out Option

A log-out button has been added. Now, users can easily switch accounts by logging out and logging in with the same or different credentials without closing the application.

2. Autosave Login Details

PDA now saves login credentials, meaning users don’t have to enter them every time they access the app.

3. Device Location Filter Enhancement

An improvement that automates the selection of sub-cloud details. After entering the main cloud detail, users can access the sub-cloud by easily changing the dropdown.

4. iOS Tunnel Enhancement

The iOS Tunnel feature now only requests admin permission once, eliminating the need to grant SUDO permissions every time you run the iOS tunnel.

5. Wildnet Integration with Jenkins Pipeline

Run Wildnet through a Jenkins CI job on Windows, Mac, or Linux, enabling users to test their local site on any Android/iOS device on the pCloudy platform as part of their CI process.
